Since I know there are quite a few birders throughout the state
who are also reporting sightings for the Maryland Amphibian and
Reptile Atlas (aka Herp Atlas), I thought I'd post this info. Not to
worry, Norm - this is the only posting I will make concerning the
herp atlas.

For those of you who are participating in the herp atlas in or near
Carroll County, David Smith and I have constructed a website for
Carroll. The link is <http://southernspreadwing.com/herps>.The
contents are:
1) Summaries of herps found to date in all the blocks assigned to
Carroll. These will be kept updated as often as David and I can make
the time. The idea is that if you are planning to go atlasing you
can see what has already been found so you don't spend a lot of time
looking for species that have already been documented.
2) DNR-provided maps of Carroll blocks, containing roads and
potential herp habitat such as rivers and ponds.
3) Google Earth file showing block boundaries and info.
4) Links to other MARA-related info that can be useful in Carroll
County.
Check it out if you're so inclined.
