I saw the Sandhill Crane in its usual spot under the pine trees in the west
side of Meadow Park around 4:00 this afternoon. Isn't it interesting/unusual
that this bird is sticking around? Has anyone seen it fly?

FYI, the Cecil Bird Club will have a display and host a beginner's bird walk
on Saturday, July 31, at the Mount Harmon Lotus Festival. Whether you are a
beginner or not, Mount Harmon is a lovely site for birding. The festival
begins at 10:00 and goes on through the afternoon.please see
http://www.mountharmon.org/events.html for details. Admission is $5;
children under 12 are free, as are members of the Friends of Mount Harmon.
