This morning Stacy Epperson spent the morning kayaking on Island Creek and Granny Finley Branch south of Chestertown. We put in at the closed bridge on Island Creek Road and paddle south about 2 tenths of a mile where we heard 3 Least Bitterns counter calling at about 7:30 AM.
The habitat was mostly undisturbed native marsh with mature forest along some of the shoreline. We did not see any other boats or people on our very pleasant 5 hour paddle.
