This morning I birded the north end of Liberty Lake at Glen Falls with
Debbie Terry. There appeared to be no passerine migrants. Shorebird numbers
were considerably less than last week. Although the lake seemed a little
lower there was less mudflat than last week, probably washed away by last
weeks heavy rain. Birds were seen both above and below the Route 140 bridge.
Some of the birds were on the Baltimore County side.
Canada Goose 59
Wood Duck 6, female with five downy young
Mallard 3
Great Blue Heron 2
Great Egret 2
Semi Plover 2
Killdeer 12
Spotted Sandpiper 2
Solitary Sandpiper 3
Semi Sand 24
Least Sand 3
Cliff Swallow - at least four nests under the bridge were still active.
Other swallows seen were Rough-winged, Bank, and Barn.
