Hi Folks,

Ed Carlson and I did one of our routine surveys of the Swan Creek
Wetland and vicinity (near Key Bridge) this morning, and had our first
migrant warbler of the season, a female/imm AMERICAN REDSTART. Also
our first BLUE-WINGED TEAL of the season dropped into the large
wetland to the west of the main road. Best bird was probably the
TRICOLORED HERON dawdling around in the mitigated wetland, probably
the same bird that was here last Tuesday.

I will be leading a bird walk for the Anne Arundel Bird Club at Swan
Creek this coming Saturday at 7:30 a.m. For anyone curious about the
place, this is a rare opportunity to get a "tour." From Fort
Smallwood Rd., take Kembo Road east through two gates until it ends
and park on the right shoulder next to the fence at the end.
