Hello All,

There are sure signs of late summer/early fall here in Rohrersville.
The American Goldfinches are emptying our thistle feeders faster than
we can fill them.  Fledged Eastern Bluebirds from our boxes are
entertaining us with some very tame behavior.  For the past few nights
Eastern Screech Owls have been screeching (I never did like that
description - they are much more musical to MY ears) very close to the
house.

Large flocks of Tree Swallows are over our meadow hawking insects
every evening around an hour before dusk. Ruby-throated Hummingbirds
in our yard also have young this year, I suspect their tiny nests are
in one of the Norway maples by our back porch.  Still no sign of
Common Nighthawks here but it won't be long before they are wheeling
over the meadow.

And, of course, the Coooper's Hawk that calles Broken Wallet Farm home
has easy pickin's.
