Estern Shore migrants -- 9/4 - 9/5/10

Hey everyone,

On Saturday John Hubbel and I spent most of the day birding in
Somerset and Wicomico Counties.  Highlights include:

Traill's Flycatcher -- Wellington WMA (Somerset)
Philadelphia Vireo -- Whitehaven Ferry Rd (Somerset)
Blue-winged Warbler -- Cedar Hill Marina & Old Bradley Rd (Wicomico)
Tennessee Warbler -- Muddy Hole Rd (Wicomico)
Prothonotary Warbler -- Flemming Mill Xing (Somerset)
Bay-breasted Warbler -- Muddy Hole Rd (Wicomico)
Baltimore Oriole -- Wellington WMA (Somerset)

Today, I birded in Caroline and Queen Anne's and had many migrants
throughout the day.  Highlights include:

Pectoral Sandpiper -- Line Rd (Caroline)
Least Flycatcher -- Lentz Td (Caroline)
Philadelphia Vireo -- Line Rd (Caroline)
Warbling Vireo -- Line Rd (Caroline)
Red-breasted Nuthatch -- I had 5 individuals on Line Rd and Trunk Line
Rd (Caroline)
Blue-winged Warbler -- 2 birds Trunk Line Rd (Caroline) and Felton
School Rd (QA)
Bay-breasted Warbler -- 2 birds on Lentz and Trunk Line Rds (Caroline)
Blackburnian Warbler -- Felton School Rd (QA)
Baltimore Oriole -- Trunk Line Rd (Caroline)

To end the day I went to Whitehaven in Wicomico County to look for
nighthawks.  I had two birds flying north to south at 7:30pm.
Observed in both Wicomico and Somerset Counties.

For the two days I observed 19 species of warbler:
Blue-winged Warbler
Tennessee Warbler
Northern Parula
Yellow Warbler
Chestnut-sided Warbler
Magnolia Warbler
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler
Blackburnian Warbler
Yellow-throated Warbler
Pine Warbler
Prairie Warbler
Bay-breasted Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
American Redstart
Prothonotary Warbler
Worm-eating Warbler
Ovenbird
Common Yellowthroat
