Hi all --

Ahhh, what a difference a day makes! Or, to paraphrase the song, "Where have
all the Maggies gone...?" Pretty slow today at Brookside Gardens and Wheaton
Regional Park, Mont. Co., although more birder were out -- lured by
yesterday's amazing fall-out. As they say, "should have been here
yesterday..." The overall paucity of migrants was enlivened by a
unexpectedly large number of Redstarts -- more than all the other warblers
put together. Most were immature birds...

Birds of interest:

Red-shouldered Hawk - 1
Green Heron - 1
Ruby-throated Hummingbird - 4
"Traill's" Flycatcher - 1 (this one looked more like a Willow)
Acadian Flycatcher - 1 (same immature seen a few days ago, same tree, tail
grown out a bit more!)
Eastern Wood-pewee - 6
Red-eyed Vireo - 8
Yellow-throated Vireo - 2 heard only (singing)
Scarlet Tanager - 2
Black-throated Green Warbler - 2
American Redstart - 10
Northern Parula - 3
Common Yellowthroat - 1
Rose-breasted Grosbeak - 2

seen by other birders:
Magnolia Warbler - 1
Chestnut-sided Warbler - 1
Baltimore Oriole - 2
