This morning I birded Hashawha Environmental Center and had better luck
than yesterday with warblers, 9 species, and vireos, 5 species. Today's list
includes:
Hummingbird 2
Pewee 1
Empidonax 1
Phoebe 1
White-eyed Vireo 5, most singing
Yellow-throated Vireo 1, heard only, singing
Warbling Vireo 3, singing
PHILADELPHIA VIREO 1
Red-eyed Vireo 2
Barn Swallow 1
House Wren 2
Gnatcatcher 1
Catbird 20
Thrasher 1
Parula 1
Magnolia Warbler 5, the first big day for them
Black-throated Green Warbler 2
Blackburnian Warbler 2
WESTERN PALM WARBLER 1
Blackpoll Warbler 1
Black-&-white Warbler 1
Yellowthroat 9
Wilson's Warbler 1
Chipping Sparrow 3
ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK 1
Indigo Bunting 4

At Study Road only Canada Geese and Mallards were on the farm pond.

At Cranberry Reservoir there were two Great Blue Herons, and a DC Cormorant
flying in circles.

In the afternoon I spent a little time hawkwatching in Manchester. Osprey,
Bald Eagle, Harrier, Sharp-shinned, Cooper's, and Red-tailed Hawks, and
Kestrel were seen. Most were flying very high. Some were local birds.
