Our group split up from Fred's after the morning (bird) rush hour, and we
later saw a couple of SWAINSON'S THRUSHES, a VEERY, and a close-up
YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER.

I birded at Governors Bridge Natural Area this morning along with a large
group of other folks. It was very active, particularly in the scrubby area
and tree lines near the fence at Governor Bridge Road. There was a nice
variety of warblers, including an adult Cape May Warbler feeding very low in
some locust trees and low shrubs, apparently oblivious to the group
watching nearby. Other warblers seen and heard included Ovenbirds, Northern
Parula, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Common Yellowthroat, several Nashville
Warblers, Black-throated Green Warbler, Magnolia Warblers, Black and White
Warblers, Canada Warbler, and a Redstart.
Other birds included a Scarlet Tanager, many Catbirds and Red-eyed Vireo,
White-eyed Vireo, and several of the regular woodpecker species. Before I
left, I birded the scrubby area a little closer to the river along a mostly
overgrown path, and got great views of a 1st fall male Rose-breasted
Grosbeak. I believe that this bird may have been spotted by others earlier in
the morning before I arrived. These are the highlights of what I saw,
others in the group undoubtedly saw other birds in addition to these. It was a
great morning to be out.
