On Sunday 9/12 there were at least 8, probably a dozen or more, fireflies between the tennis courts and "Lovers Lane" near the entrance to Montrose Park in Georgetown. I've been noticing a few (or more) since May, but not in the numbers that I recall seeing at the peak in previous summers. I've read that firefly numbers have fallen, and wonder whether they are managing to compensate by extending their "season."
