Subject: Poplar Island Sightings from September 8,2010
This report is submitted on behalf of Jan Reese of Talbot County, who
continues to periodically survey the flora and fauna of the Paul Sarbanes
Ecosystem Restoration Project at Poplar Island.
The summary of bird observations that follows was taken by
permission from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and MD Port
Administration, August 2010, Fauna Monitoring Report for the Paul S.
Sarbanes Ecosystem Restoration Project at Poplar Island.
Note the presence of Tri-colored Heron, Cooper's Hawk, Willet and
Chimney Swift, and also the presence of numerous DC Cormorants, Northern
Shovelers, Green-winged Teal, and Laughing Gulls.
