Hi Dan,
Interestingly, that is the exact same number of Stilt Sandpipers I
had last Sunday; same number of Pectoral Sandpipers, Short-billed
Dowitchers, and Wilson's Phalaropes as well. I guess a lot of
those birds must really like it there! In any event, for those
who have not been there, it's a great place to study shorebirds
and compare structure, etc. up close! (By the way the eBird high
count for Stilt Sands at CBEC is 40 by Bill Hubick in 2008. So we
just need to coax a few more to drop in to set a record.)
