We had a great day at Turkey Point today! We had eight kettles of
Broad-winged Hawks go by, the largest at 130 birds, for a total of 399
Broadwings. (That may not seem like much for those of you who watch hawks
along the Piedmont, but for our site that is pretty darn good.) We had an
additional 58 countable raptors of many species today, including two early
Red-shouldered Hawks who came close enough to show off their plumage, which
was also backlit by the sun, so they looked like they were glowing. The full
count from eBird is below. This count includes the birds observed when we
walked in and out.

Many thanks to Andy, Anne, Lin, Maryanne, Meta, and Sean for all your help
today! Didn't we have fun?
