Hi all --

Nice day, brilliant weather with the distinct feel of autumn -- the
northerly wind brought the first large early morning overhead flights of
Blue Jays that we've seen to date. However most of the birds of the past few
days seemed to have cleared out. NO Empids seen, a real change. But still
enough around to keep you looking and we did tally some migrants -- met Rob
Hilton there.

Birds of interest:

Red-shouldered Hawk - 2
BROAD-WINGED HAWK - 6 (low, seemed to getting up from nearby forest)
Sharpshinned Hawk - 1, made a pass at some warblers, the brute!
Rubythroated Hummingbird - 2
Eastern Wood-pewee - 2
Northern Flicker - 8
Red-eyed Vireo - 8
Blue Jay - 30+ in two migratory flocks
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 3
House Wren - 5
Black-and-White Warbler - 4
Black-throated Blue Warbler - 1
Black-throated Green Warbler - 3
Chestnut-sided Warbler - 3
Magnolia Warbler - 10
Ovenbird - 1 (seen by Rob)
Northern Parula - 2
American Redstart - 8 (two adult males)
Common Yellowthroat - 9
Rose-breasted Grosbeak - 4

Distinctly fewer Robins and Catbirds...
