Jane Kostenko and I arrived at Pt. Lookout around 6:20 pm. It had been spitting
rain but shortly after we got out of the car, it started raining in earnest.
Figures. We walked around the fence, the gravel valley, the grassy area inside
the turnaround and the tree stand twice each. Not many birds of any kind and no
sparrows of any ilk. It was quite windy and with the rain, any self-respecting
vagrant would be hunkered down somewhere between the fence and the point.
In summary, no Cassin's Sparrow :(
We'll be there around sunrise hoping for better results.
