Hoped that the rains had filled my trout streams so I packed up the truck
and went over for a look. This was an eastern MD storm. The Catoctins hardly
noticed it. The streams are up from a trickle to a flow, but trout were few
and far between today. I was expecting more water than what I found.
I did some birding before I put the boots on and got the rod together..
Highlights were some BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLERS and plenty of KINGLETS -
BOTH TYPES.
On my way back to the truck, I encountered a fellow who noticed my binocs
and asked, "Have you see the two foot owl? Hangs around here a lot."
No. I hadn't seen it. Nor did I. Got me to wondering; don't all owls have
two feet?
