My plans fell through and I was unable to go to Poplar Island trip
today. So instead I decided to take my young daughter birding. After
last month's Connecticut Warbler, I consider Isla my good luck charm.

One of the first birds to greet my daughter Isla and I as we got out
of the car at Kinder Farm Park in Severna Park, MD this morning was a
CLAY-COLORED SPARROW. It was very near the main entrance, working the
hedgerow that stands between the main parking lot before the
playground and the garden plots.

Also present this AM (there were fantastic numbers of birds today):
Nashville Warbler
Blackpoll Warbler
Palm Warbler (yellow)
Lincoln's Sparrow along with a few Swamp, Song and Chipping Sparrows
A single Gray-cheeked and Swainson's Thrush each.

A great morning to be out birding.
