Cool and cloudy with south winds today. There were lots of "LBJs" I could
not identify, and at least one warbler-ish bird whose yellow abdomen I had
only the briefest look at. I really need to learn flight notes!

The grass is greener than it was during all of September. There were small
emerald-colored grasshoppers, a buckeye, some sulfurs, and about ten
monarchs.

Notes:     Blue Jays in dramatic numbers today--total is an estimate and
probably conservative. About 400 left the point at 8:45 this morning.
Chimney Swifts passed over from north to south in ones and twos.
