Thanks Bill and Jim for getting the word out. Te three
avocets were still flying in the area, most often near and
over the golf course on the VA side. I believe they had
landed in one of the ponds of the golf course once in the
three quarters of an hour I was present.

Started the morning at Hughes Hollow to lead a Montgomery
County bird walk. After no one showed for the hike, I
checked several locations prior to Violette's. Highlights
were a Northern Harrier and Merlin, along with
Black-throated Green and Palm (Western) warbler. Numerous
sparrows were present, with Swamp and Song being the most
numerous.
