I just got a call from Gail M. She and Barry just saw the WESTERN
KINGBIRD at the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens in NE DC. This was at
3:05pm. It was favoring a bare tree along the main boardwalk, and then
flew to another bare tree off the shorter side boardwalk. So clearly it
is moving around, so don't get discouraged if you don't find it
immediately. That said, they don't seem to stick around in any one
place for very long.

Steve H. asked about the most recent record prior to this one. I
believe that's a bird that I saw at Kenilworth Park in June.
Unfortunately I can't remember how long ago that was, but I want to say
that it was about 12 years ago (details are at home).

Good birding,
