Hi all --

Not as active as yesterday but still a nice selection -- most of the birds
were at Wheaton Regional Park, but we checked out the hummingbird flowers at
the Gardens and picked up a few more birds there although it was very busy.
Numbers of Kinglets down, Catbirds up, lots of Towhees, and all the
Black-throated Blues were female! Best bird was a Yellow-billed Cuckoo in
the park, this has been (for us) a really awful year for Cuckoos and that
was the first one we've seen!

Birds of interest:

Red-shouldered Hawk - 1
Cooper's Hawk -- 1 large (probable) female being chased around by crows
Sharpshinned Hawk - 1
Belted Kingfisher - 1
RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD - 2 (both at the "Golden Delicious" Pineapple Sage
at Brookside)
YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO - 1
Brown Creeper - 2
Red-breasted Nuthatch - 1 (heard only)
Gray Catbird - 20
Scarlet Tanager - 1
Red-eyed Vireo - 1

Black-throated Blue Warbler - 10 (all female!)
Black-throated Green Warbler - 3
Blackpoll Warbler - 1
Magnolia Warbler - 3
Nashville Warbler - 2 (together in the mile-a-minute)
Redstart - 2 (imm. male and female)
