A fabulous day for birding, and there was a decent amount of activity. The one bird we didn't get was the white-crowned sparrows near the Willow Grove bridge--some photographers found a couple of them very early in the morning, before 8; they also got a nashville. We had a great show when 3 cooper's hawks descended on a big tree by itself in a field; the tree was filled with phoebes but not for long. Also notable were the palm warblers and their tameness. I got within arms reach of several, and one nearly landed on the head/cap of a member--got within inches. Today, our group would sometimes spread out, come together, and so on. All sorts of places to look for birds. Some of the birds:

Cooper's Hawk
Sharp-shinned Hawk
Red-Breasted Nuthatch
Blue-Headed Vireo
Flicker
Pileated
Palm w.
Blackpoll
Black-Throated Green
yr warbler
Magnolia
c Yellowthroat
Kinglets galore (both, but mainly rc)
LINCOLN'S (they seemed to be around in numbers)
Swamp sp
