HI all --

A more quiet morning at WRP today, but still some good birds around if you
kept searching! Certainly a beautiful autumn day to be out. Had our first
PURPLE FINCH for the season as well as the first actually *well-seen*
Red-breasted Nuthatch. Warbler numbers way down, except for BT Blues, and
the hoards of Kinglets were gone -- just "normal" numbers today. Came home
to see a hummingbird working our blue salvia, but it flew off -- frightened
by a loud and close lawnmower -- before we could ID it. Will keep eyes open!

Birds of interest:

Great Blue Heron - 1
Red-shouldered Hawk - 1
Belted Kingfisher - 1
Eastern Phoebe - 5
Brown Creeper - 1
House Wren - 3
Winter Wren - 2
Gray Catbird - 8
Eastern Bluebird - unseen flyovers calling
Hermit Thrush - see by another birder
Golden-crowned Kinglet - 8
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 15

No sign of yesterday's Connecticut W. -- several birders looking...
