Spent most of the morning at Terrapin Beach Park on Kent Island with my girlfriend and with good numbers of migrants around. Some notables include 1 Common Nighthawk flushed from a tree along with a Broad-winged Hawk adjacent to the parking lot. Warbler diversity was low, replaced by hordes of Yellow-rumps (hundreds), and Kinglets (4:1 Golden-crowned today, which was a flip from yesterday). I was excited to find however, an imm. male Cape May Warbler, 4-5 Black-throated Blues, and a Magnolia, along with many Palms (a couple "Eastern" too). Sparrow flocks had mostly White-throated and Song, with a few Field and Swamp. Also of note was a fly-by Royal Tern and a couple lingering Chimney Swifts. Had a couple Cooper's and Sharp-shinned migrating over as well. Seasonal birds Winter Wrens, Brown Creeper, and Hairy Woodpecker were also evident.
The Environmental Center was pretty quiet by the time we arrived and Lake Knapp was quite full, containing only ~ 50 Canada Geese and 2 Blue-wing Teal. Also picked up Bald Eagle, and Brown-headed Nuthatch. Full list below. All birds from Terrapin Beach, unless otherwise noted. 62 total species for the morning.
