Went for a walk around the lake today. Found a RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET and a
MAGNOLIA WARBLER. Nice to know the neighborhood isn't a total void in fall.

Sunday I was in the very upper left corner of Mont Co. on the C&O past
Dickerson. Very pretty area in spite of the power plant. It's about the only
part of the canal that still has water. Highlight was a BLACK-THROATED
GREEN, but I also had a 5-woodpecker day, missing only redheaded and the
sapsucker.

Saturday I found myself at Piney Run here in Carroll. Highlight was a
BLACK-THROATED GREEN (huh? Two days in a row?) and some more KINGLETS. Also
found some RUDDIES on the lake.
