I was listening for them this morning as I walked to the car... All I heard
were the White-breasted Nuthatches which were absent all summer.

A side note, though: I had my very first Little Yellow butterfly
yesterday on Gunpowder Neck, which is the down-range "securty clearence
required" portion of the Edgewood Area of Aberdeen Proving Ground in Harford
County. It was in the company of Cabbage White and Orange Sulfers which
allowed its size to be easily compared. Also it was vibrantly yellow
-reminded me of a tiny Cloudless Sulfer.

In the same area I had a calling Red-breasted Nuthatch, and a Spotted
Sandpiper (just south of Maxwell Point on the Gunpowder River).

Good Birding.
