I can't agree that single houses sitting in large spaces can eliminate bird strikes. My mother's house sits in 5 acres, with trees near the house, then open lawn, then more trees. Of course, there are plenty of bird feeders in the trees near the house.

She gets bird strikes from a variety of species. I have put those transluscent decals on her doors and windows that are supposed to be visible to birds in the UV part of the spectrum, but it has not eliminated the strikes.

On the other hand, my house sits on 1/5th of an acre, with another 1/5th beside it in trees. And, there are plenty of trees and plenty of bird feeders around my house. But, I get far fewer bird strikes.

I think a lot of the reason is that my windows are usually a lot dirtier than my mom's windows.

It may also be possible that angles of the windows to the sun or specific things that are reflected are important.
