Hi all,
Sorry for the belated post, internet was down over the weekend. Had a great morning at Terrapin Beach Park on Saturday 10-16-10. Great weather and good looks at everything at close range. Best bird was an Orange-crowned Warbler in a mixed flock of 20-30 Yellow-rumps, 4 - 6 E. Bluebirds, 4 - 6 Downy Woodpeckers and a couple Phoebes. Also had great looks at 6 other warbler species including Tennessee Warbler, Nashville, and N. Parula. Had at least 2 Lincoln's Sparrows in mixed flocks that also had Song, Swamp, Chipping, Field, White-thoated and White-crowned Sparrows. Lots of Palm Warblers everywhere and hoards of Yellow-rumps. Other highlights were a flyover Red-throated Loon, 2 Broad-winged Hawks, a Pied-billed Grebe, a couple Royal Terns, 1 Caspian Tern and ~ 50 Tree Swallows. 57 species for the morning.
Oh, and on Friday 10-15-10 I saw a flock of Bonaparte's Gulls (maybe 50 or so, maybe more) on the north side of the Bay Bridge (Q.A. side) as I was traveling eastbound. Did not see that flock from Kent Is. on Saturday though.
