Had breakfast in Thurmont and mostly rode around in these gigantic mountains
of Frederick County. Are they as big as the Himalayas? Gotta be close.

On the way over we had at least 4 WILD TURKEYS in a field just east of Rocky
Ridge Brick Co. Also had a RED-TAILED HAWK on rt 550.
The mountains were dominated by KINGLETS of both kinds. Seems like we were
never out of earshot of them. Saw my second group of JUNCOS. this fall. Best
bird by far was a CAPE MAY WARBLER. It was with a group of kinglets and
chickadees on Tower Road. Only warbler of the day but then they are
dwindling to a precious few so we felt lucky. Laura got a PILEATED
WOODPECKER I think that may have been on Tower Road, too.

Nice day to be out. Tomorrow maybe I'll climb El Capitan. Anybody know where
it is?
