Just as an FYI, larger numbers of gulls have begun stopping at Schoolhouse Pond the last few days. Earlier this month and all of September, I just had flyover birds, but yesterday at lunch there were 256 Laughing Gulls present with 1 Ring-billed Gull. And today, there were 249 Laughing Gulls with 1 Ring-billed Gull. On both days, in addition to the birds on the water, gulls were swirling overhead in large numbers and constantly landing on the pond and flying off, meaning that there is a decent turnover of gulls. Yesterday, there were no gulls initially, but 250 birds dropped in over a period of about 2 minutes. Hopefully, the numbers of Laughing Gulls will continue to build through November and some rarer species will turn up. Good birding,
