Subject: Poplar Island Sightings from October 11,2010

       This report is submitted on behalf of Jan Reese of Talbot County, who
continues to periodically survey the flora and fauna of the Paul Sarbanes
Ecosystem Restoration Project at Poplar Island.
               The summary of bird observations that follows was taken by
permission from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and MD Port
Administration, October 2010, Fauna Monitoring Report for the Paul S.
Sarbanes Ecosystem Restoration Project at Poplar Island.
       Note the presence of Blue-winged Teal, American Coot, Ring-necked
Duck, Greater Yellowlegs, Eastern Phoebe and Eastern Towhee.  Also note the
relatively large numbers of Cormorants, and ducks of many species. The
Black-bellied Plover number was the highest recorded on the property.
