No siskins so far today (managed to get 5 yesterday), but it
is *windy*. However, we did get our first PURPLE FINCH,
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW, CHIPPING SPARROW, and FIELD SPARROW
today. (I've not had much time to check the yard these
days, so some of these could easily have been around for a
while now).
Regarding siskin-friendly feeders, our nyjer feeder seems to
work well, and the birds have also been interested in our
mesh sunflower feeder. The nyjer does not interest the
squirrels; the sunflower is on a feeder pole with a baffle.
I keep the peace with the squirrels by putting out corn on
the cob regularly. :)
