Got to go out on the water today for work, which was quite nice. We left out of Deale, did some trolling, caught a few rockfish, and continued on to evaluate one of the artificial reef sites in the mid bay near the mouth of the Little Choptank. On route, well over 1,000 gulls were evident in large feeding flocks with hundreds in each flock. These mostly consisted of Laughing Gulls. Only saw 2 Bonaparte's the whole morning but there were a few Forster's Terns around and 1 Common Tern as well. Also of note was a flock of about 10 Buffleheads, my first of the season as well as several hundred (600 - 800) dark winged scoters, mostly Black but Surf as well, were nice to see. 3 Common Loons and 1 Northern Gannet.
Good Birding,
