About midway down the path btw the two bridges, in a more brushy area along the creek, at least 5 Fox Sparrows were hanging out, sometimes perched low, usually on the ground scratching. (Most were on the ground in the dense growth but not that hard to see.) The first one I saw was right in the middle of the path. In the same area were several Purple Finches (females [both male and female at my feeders in Glen Arm]). Curiously, there was a lot of Winter Wren activity (4-5).
At one point a purple finch was in the same bino view as a fox sp. Another time, a brilliant golden-crowned kinglet was with a fox in the same view.
