I cannot recall any reports in quite some time on the White Pelican at
Blackwater. One was present today on that stretch of water along Key
Wallace Dr. just east of the entrance to the Wildlife Loop. Has the bird
been present all this time, or just returned?

I was taking non-birding friend around the Eastern Shore for his first
visit, but he enjoyed some good looks at Bald Eagles, and we got eyeball to
eyeball with a Golden-crowned Kinglet, and had some not too shabby looks a
Brown-headed Nuthatches. Waterfowl was slim, aside from several Canada
Geese. The only waterfowl of note were two female Northern Pintails and one
American Coot in pool 5B.

Yesterday, the waterfowl was slim along the Choptank. Only ducks of note
were a pair of Surf Scoters off Hambrooks.
