Hello,
As of Friday the 12th there were still Black-capped Chickadees present at Blue Mash Nature Trail. I went to look after seeing good reportings there on eBird. They were concentrated at the back part of the trail which parrellels the fence. I tried to get some audio recordings, but the ambient noise made that difficult. The clearest recording i could get featured the Black-cap "fee-bee-ee" calls and "dee-dee-dee" calls that were at the cadence of a Black-cap but sounded high-pitched for a Black-cap. Typical carolina "dee-dee-dee" calls could be heard as well. I found this interesting and posted it here:

Sorry for the noise. The video after it shows typical Black-cap "dee-dee-dee" calls, but it is difficult to hear with the background noise that was present.

Other birds of interest present were a small flock of Rusty Blackbirds, Fox Sparrow and a White-crowned Sparrow. A good amount of bluebirds and a Marsh hawk was present as well.

Thx, Jon Corcoran
