.Walked on the river trail from Great Falls (Md) ) up river and then up to
near Swains lock and back this afternoon.
On the Potomac, just upriver from Conn Island was a raft of about 60
Bufflehead (looked like maybe 50 drakes and 10 hens). They were just
quietly swimming in the river.
Further up the river, and harder to see as they were much further away, was
another group of 5 -6 ducks that appeared to be all female Goldeneye.
Couldn't be sure as they were out quite a ways, but it did appear that was
what they were.
Otherwise, two adult bald eagles on a snag near the nest; 3 or 4 Winter
Wrens; and the other usual suspects.
Nice day for a walk.
