Stopped by Herrington Harbor in southern AA co. where I found well over a thousand waterfowl in Herring Bay. Most numerous were the Bufflehead, Lesser Scaup, and Surf Scoters which numbered in the several hundred each. Also present were over hundred Ruddy Ducks and lesser numbers of Black Scoters, Long-tailed Ducks, and at least a couple Greater Scaup. At least 2 White-winged Scoters were seen well in flight and on the water and there were 5 Common Goldeneye (3 males, 2 females), my first of the season. Several Common and Red-throated Loons were also seen in flight and on the water. At North Beach there was another (female) Goldeneye and small numbers of Buffles, Ruddies, and Surf Scoters. 14 Killdeer in the intertidal wetland. Stopped at Thomas Point on the way back and added 4 Canvasback, my first of the season, more Buffles, Surf Scoters, and good numbers of Long-tailed Ducks flying around, and one female on the water very close to the point. I heard 9 Goldeneye were seen flying past Greenbury Point this morning as well.

This morning at home in Eastport, the "Oregon" Junco was seen again well from about 9:00 am to 10:30 am, and time photographed well by Dan Haas. I feel it has probably been here the whole time but I have not been home much during the last week to see it. It was originally seen on Nov. 12. Also had a Hermit Thrush in the yard this morning, a new bird for the yard.

Good Birding,
