Reservoir had a flock of eight Buffleheads (4 drake) and five Ruddy Ducks,
accompanied by a larger mystery bird, which turned out to be a female Black
Scoter. No loons or grebes. There were three Herrings and one Great Black
among the many Ring-billed Gulls. Also, there were beaucoup Fish and
American Crows, seemingly in separate flocks.

I expected to see Ring-necked Ducks, but none were there.

Also went to Hains Point - what a wonderful park - but the birding was slow:
the usual Titmice and Mo Doves, but not much for diving ducks. There was an
apparent Black-Mallard hybrid paired with a drake Mallard -- all-dark
plumage and a two-toned black and orange bill. The front one-third was
orange.
