We got an early dismissal today, thanks to the Secretary of the Smithsonian, so
I made it home in daylight for a change. As I was driving southbound across the
Solomons bridge, a Brown Pelican flew from the south and landed somewhere near
Pt. Patience, on the Calvert side of the river. I pulled off onto North Patuxent
Blvd. and parked near the fishing pier and counted 25 BRPEs either in the water
or on the sand spit. If you need a BRPE for your Calvert list, it's an easy view
across the river from the defunct Hulas Bar!
