Although i have normally retired my hummer feeder in OCT or NOV, i decided to keep it maintained until early JAN this year due to the persuasive argument posted to MD Osprey to that effect. So far this effort has been without positive results in my case, but i've become curious to know how many others are doing likewise. If you want to e-mail me off list, stating your county and your intentions, i.e. maintaining feeders until just after the new year as i will do, i will compile a summary and post it to the list sometime after Christmas. Although it won't be comprehensive as some (many) households will not have access to MDOsprey, it might be interesting.
Feeder birds were active today - while not seen today, i feel sure the RB & WB Nuthatches were present along with Titmice, Caro Chick, WT & WC sparrows, and H finches. I believe i had a lone Siskin earlier this season, but they have not been noted since.
