Ed,

I saw the RN Grebe, first found by John Dennehy, on Sunday afternoon. I
first scanned from the parking area as you did and did not see it. Then
Leslie Starr & Joe Turner told me you needed to head to the right (when
facing the water) and I found it with no problem. Directions--head
towards the nature center and from there follow the trail around the big
inlet (orange blaze trail). Once you get back towards the edge of the
main lake start checking the lake for the Grebe as you continue moving
away from the nature center. It's about a 20 minute hike. Kudos to
John for taking the long hike to begin with to find the bird.

Also on Sunday I had 4 Bonapartes' Gulls at Triadelphia Res. Greenbridge
(pipeline) which were flying over both Howard and Montgomery County
lines. I see Joe Hanfman refound 2 today from the boat ramp--so they
appear to be sticking around. Surprisingly there were no waterfowl of
any kind at Triadelphia when I was there other than flyover Tundra Swans.

Good birding!
