Hello,
I've been following the Great Egrets at Southwest Area Park, and they are continuing, visible yesterday and today...two. Both days I could see one from the boat launch area looking back towards tree line towards the main entrance to the park. They were roosting in trees over the further of the two backwater areas. Today, the second one was visible walking the trail past the plane field. The bird was roosted in trees out towards the left, over the backwater. In this same area, probably 1/5 mile (?) ina group of tall decidious trees, I was able to confirm a Black-capped Chickadee vocalization 3 times, after a Cooper's Hawk flyover. This is a county first for me, again this was off to the left, same path. At the time, the area was frequented with many Red-winged Blackbirds, American Robins, and Cedar Waxwings, along with Carolina Chickadees and comon sparrow species. Other than that it was quite... most birds in one place. I have a link to a bad distance photo of one of the egrets, in the roosting spot that seems to be consistant. Not a good photo by any means, but it should give a clue to the bird's whereabouts. This is a fairly large park to cover:
