Sorry for the late post---it's the first I could get to a computer. The 
SANDHILL CRANE was present at the farm ponds at 10:20AM. I watched for 
about ten minutes. It was "grazing" with lots of CANADA GEESE still, even 
though both ponds were frozen (it was 15 degrees early this morning). They 
were all in the field closest to Shiloh Rd.. The crane walked down to the 
ponds, flapped jumped to the other side of the stream that connects the 2 
ponds, and continued up the hill where it was joined by some geese.

Then later, about noon, while making a quick stop at home, I saw first one, 
then two PILEATED WOODPECKERS in the trees just on the OTHER side of my 
fence. A very nice treat.
