After a routine troll of Triadelphia I journeyed up to Carroll to try for
the crane and grebe.

Got good looks at the crane, and arrived at Piney Run about 1130. I regret
I failed to get the gentleman's name who steared me in the right direction,
more than embarassing since I've encountered him at more than one rare bird,
but it was down toward the dam. The distance was long, but fortunately it
was out in front of the numerous Canada Geese. Big bill, big, white cheek.

Nice variety of waterfowl, to include one Gadwall, several Am. Wigeon, some
Pied-billed, 3 Tundra Swans, Black Ducks, Ring-necks, L. Scaup, Canvasback,
Ruddies, Hooded Mergs galore, a few Commons, and two very obliging Horned
Grebes just off the boat ramp. I undoubtedly have forgotten a few, but will
be making full report to eBird.
