This morning at 645 am, I was out with my son and heard a call I did not recognize but realized it was very unique and right away I suspected evening grosbeak. It was calling frequently but was not close. sound quality was excellent, as every sound could be heard clearly. I saw a bird without 150 yards away at the top of a tulip tree, looked, and had it. a second bird was calling from about 300 feet further down the tree line, and for a minute the two called to each other back and forth loudly. The near bird then flew to the farther one and I lost sight of them. I heard of call a couple more times and then they disappeared.
They were seen off of Mount Calvert Rd, about 1 quarter mile from the end. I am hoping they may visit our feeder sometime soon and will be looking for them!
Cheers-
