The Schoolhouse Pond Ovenbird was present again today during my lunchtime walk, foraging along the path with White-throated, Song, and Swamp Sparrows. I got some much better photos today as it approached within 20 feet of me in good light. I've had fun keeping track of this bird and am curious how much longer he is going to stay (hopefully at least until the Jug Bay CBC). Also present today was a Red-shouldered Hawk (perched further down the trail), an adult Great Black-backed Gull (flyover), 6 American Coots, 12 Shovelers, and 1 male American Wigeon. This morning, I saw three Bald Eagles (2 adults, 1 immature) during the brief snow showers that came through the area. There have been 700 or so Canada Geese on recent mornings, but nothing unusual so far.
