The Glaucous Gull was easily visible today at the park. John Dennehy had the
bird in his spotting scope when I arrived. We had excellent views of the
bird as it stood and flew around harassing Ring-bills. After a few minutes
the gulls spooked when a Red-tailed Hawk flew overhead, and almost all of
the hundreds of gulls flew south. Fortunately, the Glaucous stayed behind
and was also seen by Mark Johnson.
Thank you for showing it to me today, John, and thank you, Sean, for calling
to let me know it was there today. Life bird!
