I went out to Hampstead and Westminster this afternoon to see if the
Sandhill Crane and White-fronted Goose were still hanging on. They are. The
Sandhill Crane at Hampstead was in the usual area on the farm on the north
side of Shiloh Road grazing with geese above the now-frozen pond. At
Cranberry Reservoir the White-fronted Goose was on the ice in front of the
Canada Geese and was literally the first bird I looked at when I put my
binoculars up.
